Brains…..Eat this to fight and prevent Alzheimer's

Hi. I’m Andy, co-founders of Foco Academy, functional health and wellness coaches. As the world starts to wake up to the new normal, a lot has changed so we are also tweaking the focus of our messaging on how to get ahead in this new environmental, this new world. We are still focusing on time, health, and relationships and we are still utilizing the same set of success principles.

What if I tell you, that we have been lied to, for over 40 years? That we have been hoodwinked all along? That the so called ‘low fat’ diet that is so beloved by doctors is actually hurting our bodies?

The supposedly healthier, vegetable based, less meat and less fat diet, was first introduced in the 1977. That year, something was introduced to the doctors, this thing called ‘Dietary goals’.

From that point on, doctors were taught and told to recommend their patients to eat less meat, eat low fat or even fat free foods. They claim, that by eating a low fat diet, it will help prevent heart attacks and cancer.

But here’s what’s interesting. This scathing report on Dietary Goals. This new golden standard of human diet that all American doctors are supposed to follow. You would think that this report is done by a team of scientists and doctors and backed by years of solid research right?

Wrong. And that’s why I said we got hoodwinked. The dietary goals was delivered by politicians. Congress delivered this report based on a committee of politicians led by Senator George McGovern. Not backed by science and not backed by facts.

You see what happened there? Politicians used the medical doctors voice to tell the general public to eat a low fat, low meat diet. Pretty crazy right? And this low fat phase became so ingrained into our daily lives that it is hard to believe that it wasn’t backed by solid scientific research.

Now if they had somehow got lucky and gotten the diet right, it would be ok. Except that it is not.

It didn’t lower your risk of heart disease and cancer. More and more people are dying from heart disease and cancer now than 40 years ago.

On top of that, the low fat diet has caused something really bad to explode and that is Alzheimers.

Before this crazy diet was pushed to the public, right around 1979 or so, CDC recorded 857 deaths from Alzheimers. Which is a very small percentage of the total mortality rate.

Now 40 years later, as people followed this low meat, low fat diet, we saw something really bad happen.

In 2018, the number of Alzheimer deaths exploded to 122,000 lives that year. From 857 to 122000 - that is a 14,400% increase in Alzheimers death over the last 40 years.

Luckily, there are rebels in the world who don’t just blindly follow  whatever the politicians said, even though, they were said through the voice of the medical doctors.

Does this sound familiar with everything going on right now?

Over the years, studies showed that eating quality red meat and quality fats does not cause heart problems or cancer. In fact Mayo Clinic has research showing that fat actually protects against seniors getting dementia!

The Journal of Alzheimers Disease published a 4-year study where they found that seniors who ate more fat and less carbs were 44% less likely to develop dementia. The seniors that ate more carbs and less fats had a much greater chance of developing dementia leading to Alzheimers!

So let’s all forget about this low fat, low taste diet.

Here’s what you should do instead, add more fats, and eat less carbs in your daily meals.

A high fat, low carb diet gives you faster brain processing speed, better learning and a stronger memory! What does that mean? It means fats makes you smarter!

And it actually makes sense. Did you know that the brain is made up of 60% fat?  So, why wouldn’t you feed it more fat to boost brain health?

No Before you go out and pig out on burgers and steaks at a  fast food restaurant or load up on steaks from your local super market. Not all red meat is created equal, make sure that your red meat comes from cows that are pasture raised, eating grass and other natural foods.

Stay away from the meats raised from factory farms where cows were confined, beat up, and fed an unhealthy diet of grains, hormones and antibiotics. The majority of the  ‘meats’ that you find in supermarkets or fast food restaurants are highly processed, filled with preservatives, nitrates and other yucky chemicals.

Obvious these are not what you want to feed your brain. These fats are the fats that started the whole Fat is bad Story!

Treat yourself to a good quality piece of steak. Find a restaurant that sells high quality grass fed Steaks or better yet buy your own and cook it at home in grass fed butter and enjoy the flavors.

Find a local farm that raises their cows on pastures, eating grass and or find a reputable Meat supplier that only sells Grass fed Meat. One that we like to use is Butcher box, we proved a link below for you to get a discount on your first order. Since we moved to Texas, on top of using Butcher box, we have found a local farmer that has pasture raised cows, and heritage pork.

Start incorporating high quality fats into your daily diet and you will soon notice that you have better mental clarity and a stronger memory.
