Living a longer Healthier life is simple 2 - Sunshine Supplement
Dec 24, 2021Hi. I’m Andy, co-founders of Foco Academy, functional health and wellness coaches. As the world starts to wake up to the new normal, a lot has changed so we are also tweaking the focus of our messaging on how to get ahead in this new environmental, this new world. We are still focusing on time, health, and relationships and we are still utilizing the same set of success principles.
Last time I asked you a question: ‘where do you see yourself 10,20, 30 years from now?’
Did you envision what your future would look like?
What type of life you can be living?
Maybe thinking about your mortality?
How long would you live?
What is your ‘healthy life span’?
What is your ‘unhealthy life span’?
With all the fear spreading from mainstream media and news outlets, some of you may be thinking: I don’t even know what my health situation is going to be like this coming year, let alone 10, 20, 30 years from now.
After all, the media made it sound like if you catch the c-virus you’re gonna die.
And when you hear that there is a new variant and it is even more contagious, you get really scared. You may even have stopped going out shopping again and started buying everything online so that somebody else will deliver the stuff to you.
The other day, I heard something on the news that made no sense to me.
Let’s not say who said it, but it went along the lines of
“Unvaccinated Americans will face a winter of severe illness and death amid the spread of the new variant.”
How’s that for putting fear into our minds.
I am a functional nutrition and longevity coach, so I know that the human body has amazing ability to heal itself and fight off any viral and bacteria infections if given the proper support.
Regardless of whether you are ‘vexed’ or not, if you are in poor health and you have underlying conditions, you have an equal chance of getting really sick and dying.
If you follow the science and study the CDC statistics, you will see that is the fact. Let me just expand on this a bit.
When I say follow the science and the studies, I don’t mean watching the news and the headlines from Facebook.
I mean if you actually do research the old fashioned way. Go read the scientific articles, read the actual research articles. There are thousands of published research studies on this topic and you will find something very different than what the media portrays.
As a health professional, I truly believe that it is our responsibility to show you how to actually improve your health, rather than relying on shot after shot after shot.
Many of you may be tracking your weight. Because it is one benchmark that most people are self conscious about.
But there are more than your weight that you should be monitoring and tracking. Tracking your weight alone is not enough to tell you whether you are in good health, or if you are in declining health.
The numbers that we should be monitoring and tracking is called our “Health Transcripts”.
You know what a transcript is. As kids, we get a transcript every year to show us, and our parents, how well we do in school.
The health transcript is the same. Except that it isn’t about English or Math. It is about how well we keep ourselves healthy.
Here is the first metric on your transcript that you should be testing right now.
You can ask your doctor to prescribe the test and go to a lab and test yourself. And before you start making excuses in your head about how you are busy and don’t have time to go get a test, there is a way that you can get this tested in your comfort of your own home. You don’t need to go out. You don’t need to schedule an appointment. Heck, you don’t even need to call your doctor. It’s that easy.
Here’s a link to get 25% of your first home test!
This one metric will determine how strong or weak your immune system is:
Your Vitamin D levels.
Vitamin D helps boosts both your innate and adaptive immune systems to fight of acute and chronic disease.
From your doctor’s standpoint, if your vitamin D levels are at around 25ng/ml, then you are considered ‘fine’. And if you are below that, then you should take supplement with 2000IU of Vitamin D.
But recent studies around the world have shown that with CV19 Infections, regardless if you are vaccinated or not, those that had below 30ng/ml levels of Vitamin D had a higher change of serious illness and death. For those that recovered, they all had Vitamin D levels of 50ng/ml and higher.
It may surprise you that many people are deficient in Vitamin D without knowing it. Maybe even you.
Just lying out in the sun or taking 2000IU of Vitamin D daily may not bring you up to optimal levels. As we get older, our bodies lose the ability to make vitamin D. If you are not taking Vitamin K2 or if don’t have K2 in your diet, you will not absorb the Vitamin D supplements.
The only way to know is to get your Vitamin D levels tested.
I check my vitamin D levels every 3 months, and when it is below 50ng/ml I would increase Vitamin D supplements until I get back to optimal levels. I like to keep my Vitamin D levels between 60-80ng/ml to keep our immune system in tip top shape.

This one Vitamin may save your life if you catch covid, regardless if you are vaccinated or not, so make sure to arrange to get tested now.
Next time I ask you what your vitamin D levels are, I hope you have a current test to show me your numbers.
Having optimal Vitamin D levels is your first step to living a longer and healthier life.
Don’t miss my next episode as I go over other metrics that you should be measuring that can help can track your current state of health.
