Do Men Look Sexier as they Age? 7 Tips to Slow Down Aging. Part 3

anti-aging skincare stress targeted training Apr 17, 2019

Welcome back to the Foolish Review. I am Andy.

So, do men look sexier as they age? Well, the answer is. That depends. I certainly feel sexier now than when I was in my 30’s. My body feels energetic, my complexion is clear and I actually wake up without any aches and pains.

10 years ago, every morning, when I woke up, I woke up with so much back pain that I had to roll to my side, put my feet on the floor, and then push myself up and out of bed. Well, that’s not sexy, and that’s not me anymore.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been sharing tips on how to look and feel sexier as a man. If you’ve missed the older episodes, I have included the links here so that you can go back and watch them later.

 For now, let’s continue.

Staying young, healthy, and sexy isn’t just about what you eat and what you drink. 50% of how your body functions is based on how your brain works. When you are stressed, either from work or from home, it affects our body.

Chronic stress can damage our immune system and speed up the aging process of our bodies. It’s like a rubber band that is constantly being stretched and pulled. Even if the rubber band doesn’t snap, it will become warped and bent out of shape. So, for the benefit of your health and your youthfulness, it is really important to manage stress.

First, you have to acknowledge the fact that you are stressed. And then you can deal with your stress. There are many methods out there, some of the popular ones that I like are yoga, meditation, and tapping.

Another way for you to stay happy and focused is to write in a gratitude journal. Whenever I start to think about the blessings that I’ve been given in life, whatever was stressing me out will disappear. It works like magic and I think it would work for you too. So get into the habit of keeping and writing in your gratitude journal. I think you will find that it works magic for you.

Next, let’s talk about skincare. I didn’t start using proper skincare until I was 38. Before then I only washed my face with soap. I had a lot of blemishes and facial scars from all the acne that I had as a kid. My face was always dry. Now, would you like to kiss someone on the face if that face is dry and pimply? No! Right.

Let’s be clear. Skincare is not makeup. You don’t need makeup, unless you are an actor. But you do need skincare. Because, yes, men have skin too. And since you have skin, it is important for you to use good quality, clean skincare that not only keeps your face clean, but also moisturizes, protects and rejuvenates your skin, without preservatives, parabens, and other harmful toxins that you can find in some low quality skincare products. If you want to know what I use, well, I use the same thing that Minna uses. So it is a unisex product. And if you want to turn back the clock and actually look younger, you can find my recommendations here.

Next tip is about exercise. After the age of 30, we start to lose about 5% of muscle mass per decade. Less muscle mass means less mobility and less strength, which can lead to greater risks of falls and bone fractures.

But that doesn’t mean you have to work out 1 to 2 hours 5 times a week. Unless you want to. Because when you over exercise, you are over stressing your body and when you don’t give your body enough time to recover and refuel, your body will break down faster, causing you premature aging.

What I do, maintains my strength, builds lean muscle mass, loses weight and also boost my mitochondrial health. Mitochondria is the powerhouse of all your cells including your muscles, your immune system, and your skin

My exercise routine takes only 10-15 minutes a day and 1 to 2 days of 30-60 minutes of activities per week. And all my exercises can be done without a fancy gym equipment. My routine includes 5-10 minutes of resistance training and 5 minutes of stretching and foam rolling. And the other two days, you do sports or activity you enjoy such as tennis, golfing, hiking or, for me, that’s badminton. If you want to know what exercise I do?

OK. I think that’s enough for today. Next week, we will wrap up with the final tip, but probably the most important tip on how to stay sexy.
