The One Thing You are Missing in Life Part 3

coach health productivity success Mar 27, 2019

Hello. My name is Minna from the Foolish Couple. Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve talked about why you suck at reaching your own goals. The fact that you get into your own way is the reason why you need a coach. Everyone needs a coach, if you want to succeed. Even coaches need coaches. And the best in the world, no matter what field they are in, they have the best coaches.

Having a coach that can work with you and that you are able to work with, will change your entire life. A good coach will sympathize with you, but will push you to your limit. They will change your perspective on how you perceive your problems and road blocks, and stimulate your creativity to get you out of your box and reach for your goal.

A good coach will support you and mentor you, but they will not baby you. That’s what your mom is for and that’s why never have your own mom as your coach. It won’t work. If you want to manifest your dreams, go get yourself a coach.

But how? How do I know where I can find a coach that works for me? Because coaches, unlike teachers, don’t have a curriculum. They don’t have a list of things that they will teach you. So my advice for you, is to try different coaches, and give them time. You probably won’t see results with any coach right away, but if you give them, say, around 90 days, then you should see results. You will see your finances getting more manageable, your health and energy level getting better, your relationship with your spouse and kids getting closer, your career path seems brighter and clearer for you.

So where do you find a coach? Well, there’s good old Google, of course. You can also ask for referrals. Some coaches will advertise. Depending on what type of coach you are looking for, you may be able to look for a professional organization of that kind of coaches.

Bottom line is, start somewhere. If you google a coach that you think you might like to work with, read up on his or her blogs, subscribe to their newsletters. Just take the first step and find yourself a coach.

And, like I said last week, be ready to pay the price. Good coaches don’t come cheap. And it isn’t just about your time. For you to reach any of your goals, you have to work for it. You have to take action.

Look, even if your goal is as ridiculous as ‘I want to win the lottery’. You still have to go out to the store, pay that $2 for the ticket and pick the numbers. And then you still have to check if you win or not. In other words, you still have to take some type of action. And, honestly, most of your dreams will require you to take massive action. But it is worth it. Trust me.

Even if you fail, even if you never really get to your ultimate goal, just by coaching and taking action, the process itself will change it. You will come up a better person.

There is no downside to pursuing your dreams, unless, of course, you feel like giving up watching Game of Thrones or something like that is a sacrifice. And there are plenty of people that would rather watch Game of Throne rather than seeing their dream come true.

But not you. Not this year. You don’t have to wait for New Year’s to set a new goal. Start today. Set a new goal, find a coach, and go get your dream.

So here’s some simple guidelines to finding the right coach for you:

  1. Try, try and try. The first one may not work out. Neither may the second. But if you keep looking, you will find the right one. It may not be the most famous coach, or the most expensive. But finding a good coach is like finding a good friend. You may not be able to find one quickly, but you just need to find that one good one.
  2. Give your coach time. Accept the fact that, you didn’t get to where you are now without making many bad choices over many years. So give him or her time to help you.
  3. Keep an open mind. Going outside the box means that you don’t know what’s outside the box. So trust the process. Trust the coach.

And, these days, coaching doesn’t even need to be face to face. There are plenty of coaches that will coach you virtually, either via some type of web conferencing software or some that has online programs that will help you achieve your goals.
